Water Baptism

Water baptism symbolizes a profound spiritual transformation and obedience for believers in Jesus Christ. Just as Christ commanded His disciples in Matthew 28:19-20 to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them," baptism represents a public declaration of faith and identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. When believers are immersed in water, they symbolically participate in Christ's death and burial, and as they emerge, they demonstrate their new life in Him, as described in Romans 6:3-4. This sacred ordinance also serves as a visible testimony to the church and world of the believer's commitment to follow Jesus, marking their entrance into the community of faith. Furthermore, water baptism follows the example set by Jesus Himself, who was baptized by John the Baptist to "fulfill all righteousness" (Matthew 3:15), establishing a pattern for His followers to emulate.
